As of Thursday I have been in Norway for one week. It has been a very tiring week, but one full of new and exciting adventures. I started school on Tuesday and surprisingly I wasn't as nervous as I usually would have if I was in Australia, the teacher did make me stand in front of the class for 15 minutes while he questioned me, that was a little excessive but not too bad. I have a lot of free periods during school so I spend a fair amount of time sitting in the cafeteria. School is very different in comparison to my old one. For starters it isn't all girls and there are no uniforms (I really LOVE uniforms, I realise now when trying to find an outfit everyday just how great they are) people dress really nicely for school, also in school they use their laptops which means I get to sit playing games during class because I have no idea what they are talking about. Also school has two campuses one on each side of town each on top of a hill, these are not little hills they are very large and I end up puffing when ever I have to cross to the other campus.
With the combination of walking between campuses sometimes and going for a walk pretty much every day I can feel myself becoming fitter already :) My family also eats really healthy so I shouldn't come home with any extra exchange weight YAY!!
I have made a new worst enemy... ICE, I absolutely hate it, possibly the most slippery ice I have ever walked on in my life your foot just slides across and continues to until your on your ass or in my case your stomach. At the moment the ice has melted so, I'm free from falling for a while until it snows again.
I'm yet to be homesick, randomly I will miss something but I don't think I will be homesick for a few weeks. Also in a week I will be going to orientation camp to Tronheim which goes from Tuesday to Sunday, hopefully that will be fun.
My Norwegian is practically no existent, but I am trying :)

I have arrived :)
So I arrived in Norway on the 5th of January after way too long travelling, which I had problems with my baggage and visa (stressful!!). Seriously don't travel with overweight baggage it's such a pain.
I already love my host family I feel like I fit in really well, I love their house and my bedroom, also the fact that I have my own bathroom!!( it is the laundry as well but still!!). Strangely I really like their butter it's quite yummy, the jam is very different it doesn't really have the jelly stuff in it, I guess it's more of a puree but its still yum.
I haven't really noticed too many differences probably when I have been here a bit longer. These are the ones I have noticed:

I haven't really noticed too many differences probably when I have been here a bit longer. These are the ones I have noticed:
- You ALWAYS take your shoes off when going into the house
- Dinner is eaten really early, my family eats at 4 and they think eating at 5 is late (they were shocked when I said I eat dinner at 8 sometimes)
- The sun just doesn't like me, it's 6:48am and there isn't a sign of it rising and it sets early too
- It's so quiet, there are no bugs being loud and obnoxious and the people are generally quiet when walking around
- They drive on the right (wrong) side of the road which continually confuses me
- Going for a short walk is 30mins ( to me short is 10-20min)
- Nobody really knows what sweet potato is, lucky my family does cuz I love sweet potato
Last night we went for a walk and its on a sort of walking track that's all lit up and OMG I can't describe how beautiful it was, it sort of reminded me of the lion the witch and the wardrobe. The lights made all the snow twinkle, it was just amazing. Stupidly enough I didn't take any photo's. The only part of the walk was that my face was numb by the end of it, because I didn't realise that I had a scarf on to cover my face. A numb face is not a fun experience.
I go into school on Monday to have a meeting with the counsellor (I think that's what there called) and I should be starting on Tuesday. I think that's the plan.
Anywayz I'm not sure how often I'll update this, I guess whenever I can :)
